Stone witnesses of a great past

The typical glowing red of Gothic brick can be found everywhere within the town walls: outside the mighty parish churches, the imposing city hall, the monasteries and many splendid patrician houses.

As you might know the historic centre of Stralsund is part of the European Route of Brick Gothic, which follows the tracks of this architectural epoch through seven countries. However different the traditions and cultures along the Baltic Sea may be, we share the same history and thus you will find a tremendous amount of Brick Gothic buildings everywhere alongside this trail.
